Having got it going nicely due to a new IDE drive (the new kernel didn't recognise the Mylex SCSI card), and Nye's mastered asteroids, a Bad Thing happens. While my back was turned, he took the front-loading SCSI out while the machine was running. Result: Dead machine. Ah well. Back to the drawing board. Kismet. The darn thing now tells me there's an error uncompressing the kernel. It'll have to wait for new discs fro mthe Linux Empporium (full OS for £8 or so. Bargain). Nuts.
